N.E.M.O.
NAUTICAL ENVIRONMENT
FOR MOBILITY WITHOUT OBSTACLES
The N.E.M.O. program
is one that takes rehabilitation into a new medium, underneath
the water. N.E.M.O.
serves as both an innovative approach to rehab and ultimately
a scuba diving certification under the
guidelines of the HANDICAPPED SCUBA ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL.
Utilizing the HSA
standards and
certification, MOSS REHAB will offer this program to current outpatients,
billed through their
insurance, and the general public through private pay. The program
will initially take the participants
to area pools to prepare them for eventual open water diving.
When discharged from skilled therapy,
the goal is to advance the participant to HSA certification and
open water diving with their able-bodied dive buddies.
